Online Math Degrees Knowledge Base
are there any colleges offer an online math degree? I'm looking for a college that offers a math degree through the internet. Preferably an Accredited college/university based in the United States. Does anyone know of one? Please do not just list search engines with generic results. Thanks!
Is it possible to complete an online math degree while a Navy Nuke? After the schooling years could I obtain my degree two years later by doing school full time while working as a Nuke? I really want a degree but also need money ASAP so I am considering this route because I can become a Nuke officer with a mathematics degree. University of Illinois offers a math degree completely online after you complete gen. ed requirements and maths up to Calculus 3. I just wonder how it will go. I know I can take math classes online but I'm thinking about the required sciences. Yes, I have an acceptable ASVAP score to qualify for Nuke. The recruiter brought it to my attention. After two years of training will they give me two plus to obtain a bachelors? And I will owe them... how many years? Thanks for the responses. I may consider trying to become a translator/interpretor/linguist.
Online degree programs for people with math problems? Im currently in an in person college for medical assisting. I know I'm much smarter than that and want to have a real associates degree. I have a math problem and places like University of Phoenix require too much math. What schools do not require alot? I want to definately work in healthcare. Do any online programs offer nursing?
Where can I take online math courses in partial differential equations? I am looking for an online math course that I can take as non-degree / non-matriculated student. Specifically, I need a class in partial differential equations and/or numerical analysis as part of my prerequisites for graduate studies The only program I found so far is Columbia's CVN which is pretty expensive.
Where can I take Online Math courses? I will need like 2 college algebra, one trig, and a discrete math. I need all of these online, it just works better that way. But I don't want a full degree course, just the math.
Pretty easy math question about clocks and degrees? What is the measure of the angle formed by the "big hand" and the "little hand" of a clock at 1:15pm? I'm doing this sort of online math thing and this is one of the questions.. I'm a bit stuck. I got to the end of it and thought it was either 51 or 52.5 degrees? The latter being my most recent thought... Help? Also, you have to take into account that the hour hand won't be DIRECTLY on the 1, since it's one FIFTEEN, so it'll be a quarter of the way between the 1 and the 2...
Anyone know of any online masters (graduate) degree programs in the United States that are online in math? Anyone know of any online masters (graduate) degree programs in the United States that are online? IMPORTANT:I am only interested in programs from schools that have traditional on campus degrees as well. What I mean is not schools like University of Phoenix which mostly offer programs online. Here's an example: Texas A & M has a masters program in math online: http://distance-ed.math.tamu.edu/ Even though Texas A & M is a well-known traditional school. I don't mind if the degree has a small concentration in something else like education as long as the degree has a main focus on math. As I am not a Texas resident tuition would be about $1,000 per credit so I am looking for something cheaper.
Will we ever see online or distance PhD degrees that are respectable? The only ones I see now are in education or psychology from schools that are not known to be selective. Will we ever see degrees in science, math, humanities and the social sciences which are respectable? Requiring residency for the traditional degree seems to be a medieval anachronism.
Online Degrees or classes? My boyfriend doesn't have a lot of time to actually "attend" school right now (working full time). So I was wondering if there was a good school he could attend to start out his degree. He wants a Chemistry degree. I know MOST of his science classes cannot be taken online because well they have Labs. But is there a good school that has a lot of the basics online (English, Math, Humanities) that will also transfer to a university or community college. We live in AZ by the way. The only ones I've found with a lot of online classes is University of Phoenix, and Apollo College, BOTH do not transfer credits to other colleges so are completely useless. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
Looking for a Graduate Math Degree 100% Online? Texas A&M has one that is appealing, but $698/credit is a bit pricey. I am not interested in the for profit institutions such as UoP, Waldren, AIU, Capella, etc. The eventual goal is to teach on the 9-12 and community college levels. Thanks, but I am not interested in WGU (despite their accreditation), because they have a demonstration requirement. I do not want to become a full-time math teacher. Further, the whole 'competency' concept is not wholly accepted by industry.
Are there any math programs or games online that can help someone who is bad with it advance? Hello, I am entering college in the fall. I will have to take a college algebra course to get my degree. I have always excelled in english and fallen short in mathametics. Are there any fun programs or tutorials online that can help me refresh and build my math skills? Please provide me with something that will start with the basics and push me up from that. Thank you!
What degree should I get ONLINE if I love math, and ive always been interested in forensic science? I've always loved numbers and have been great at math... The last several years I wanted to get a career in forensic science and just obtained my AA in criminal justice. Plans have changed now so I have to get my degree ONLINE. So I need to choose a different bachelors degree because there aren't as many hands-on or any labs online.... What degree, or career should I go for being that I have my precriminal justice, but I think the math route would be easier for me... Thanks ahead of time!
Where can I get my math (teaching) certification online? I already have a secondary education degree and am a certified Biology teacher but I would like to add a math certification. I'm trying to find some of the less expensive schools to do this at where I can do it completely online. Any suggestions?
I need some diffinitions foy my math class, and all the ones online are confusing? What is complementary? In math terms? What is additionally (math) and what is supplementary (math) Could you maybe even restate the question (but don't give me the answer please) the questions says: Angle J and K are complimentary and additionally, Angle J is supplementary to angle L. What is the measure of angle J if Angle K is 42 degrees. I am in pre-algebra so this might seme easy for some of you guys but we haven't learned this stuff yet.
How would I come up the answers for these math problems? Need help with these math problems please help? I keep getting these wrong on my online math homework, could someone give me the answer but how you got it? 1.The sum of the measures of two complementary angles is 90 degrees, if one angle measures 21 more than twice the measure of the other fine the smaller angle 2. The perimeter of a college athletic field is 96 meters and the length is 12m more than the width Find the length and the width. 3. What percent of 80 is 140?
I am not sure if I want to work for a degree in Accounting or in Marketing. I can only earn degree online.? I live in a town of about 15,000 people with several smaller towns surrounding it.... I am not sure which business would more successful in this area for me. I am very creative and have a graphic arts background already - so Marketing degree seems to fit. However, I am REALLY good at math and numbers. A Math degree and teaching Math to high school students is my dream career - but I cannot find an accredited online undergraduate math degree.... so accounting might be a good option. What do you think? What will earn more money or do better in a smaller community? Would I be able to telecommute?
Online degrees vs traditional. so will I still get a traditional if I take only a few online and the rest on? There are some classes I don't want to sit in the classroom for. English and math are two of them. I hear there is controversy about online degrees and traditional, that online get's treated differently. Will I still get a traditional degree if I take some courses online and the rest on campas? Will employers see that and judge me differently just b/c I chose to take some classes online? I want to be a kindergarten teacher, btw, if that makes a difference. thanks in advance =D
What is the best associate's degree to get online? I am a mother of two and have a full time daycare. I am wanting to use nap time and evening to pursue an online degree, but I have no clue what I should go for. I hate math so accounting is out. I want to make sure I can get a good paying job when I am done. Okay I've decided I want an online associate's degree in software engineering. Which is the best regionally accredited online school to achieve this?
What is the cheapest, easiest, fastest, online masters degree possible? I have decided to go for my masters. I want it to be the cheapest, easiest, fastest, online degree possible? I live in Florida. I have decided to pursue a Masters degree. I haven't narrowed it down yet but it will most likely be one of these three; Special Ed, Ed leadership, or Psychology. My Bachelor's is in Psych. I have a teaching cert for both Psych and Special Ed.(ESE). I am finishing my sixth year of teaching ESE at the high school level. I am currently studying to take the middle grades integrated curriculum exa, which will earn me certifications in math, science, english and social studies. I get emails most every day from universities trying to recruit me. Now that you know a little about me, I would appreciate a bit of advice. To be honest, I want this to be as quick and painless as possible. I also know there are schools out there that meet my requirements, I just haven't searched for them yet. Please help. Thanks!
Looking for someone to assist me with Algebra work online? I am searching for someone who really knows Algebra and feels confident enough to assist me with some work that I am struggling with. The college course is online, & math problems and work are sent via the web. Perhaps we can chat via messanger, etc. I have four more weeks left in this college class, and my degree depends on me receiving a C+ or better in this class. I am willing to compensate you for your time & help (but please, don't expect a fortune). Please email me if you are willing to help.
Can I take basic college courses online? I have no prior college classes. While being a mother to two and working a full time job, I have to make time while I am at home to do my schooling. I have checked with my local community college and they offer online classes, just not the basic ones such as English, Math, and so forth. I know some college credits won't transfer and some employers won't accept some online college degrees. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Tutoring Math and Science online? Has anyone tutored online for math or science here? What's the place to go and about how much $ am I looking at per month? I'm working on my bachelor's degree right now in science and math. Don't have it quite yet.
How do I find jobs in private or public education in Sacramento California area using continuous improvement? I have a math degree; Masters in Ed. Admin.; 20+ years teaching experience from elementary through high school. Have piloted "continuous improvement" study in classroom using W. Edwards Deming ideas and Lee Jenkins' Improving Student Learning. I also think a technical education strand is needed in secondary education in addition to the college-prep route. The possibilities of online learning are of interest since I've worked as a consultant with online math tutoring software plus analyzing state standards and college math textbooks.
Math online, I mean come on...? I've been looking for weeks, is there not a good site out there that allows you to learn math online? Even if some portion is live instructor led? Even if I have to go to a 'college' online for this, the two things I would want are, high tech online classes with alot of features, and also I want to be able to pick individual classes and not just a entire degree program.
BSc Mathematics or BSc Physical Science online degree? Is there any institute around the world that offers purely Bachelor Degree in Mathematics or Physical Science or Maths/Physics degree by purely online studies? Open University UK ( Britain) is by far the best, no entry requirements and easy to enroll and highly regarded around the world and recognised ( Leads to honours ) Ellis New York City NIT looks good too but confusing. Anywhere else that offers above mentioned subjects as a Distant Learning or Online Bachelor Degree? ( has to be accredited) Not looking for links unless you have the direct link to above mentioned subjects and not interested in single "courses" Thank you so much
how to teach maths online in canada? I hold a doctorate degree in maths and am settled in canada. I can teach any type of maths. I can also do research/ assist in research, if required in any feild of maths.
I want to get a M.S. in educ. online. I can't decide to go with tech., read.,or math. Which is more useful? I'm currently an elementary school teacher and would like to get a M.S. degree online. I want to get a degree in an area that would benefit me in education and perhaps in other areas as well. If I ever decided to stop teaching at the elementary level and decided to teach at the college level I want a degree that would benefit me the most at both levels. I enjoy all subjects but I can only get a Masters in one. Please help me decide on the best program. Thank you in advance!
Question For Math Teachers/Majors? Dear Math Teachers/Majors: I was born in the Dominican Republic but raised in New York City. I want to share my story and passion with you which includes mathematics. I attended several CUNY colleges in the NYC area and earned two degrees: (1) A.A. in Liberal Arts and B.A. in Sociology. However, my true and only passion has been the world of numbers. I love algebra, geometry, trigonometry and calculus very much. So, what is the problem? I want to return to school. The practical avenue for me to travel would be to enroll in graduate school in the field of sociology. It makes sense since I already have a B.A. in the field. However, I do not like sociology as much as I love math. I can probably graduate with a M.A. in sociology in about 3 years (as a part-time student). However, if I choose to study mathematics, it would take me much longer to reach my goal since I do NOT have a degree in math. So, why a math degree? I want to teach math at the college level OUTSIDE the NYC area. All NYC professors, to my understanding, must have a doctorate degree in their field of expertise in order to gain full-time professor status. I know there are states in America that would welcome me as a college professor of mathematics without having a doctorate degree but where? Where are we going with this e-mail? I am 42 years old. I work two dead-end, part-time jobs with no benefits, no dental/medical, no 401k plan, no vacation, no retirement plan of any kind, etc. I am TIRED of struggling. I am a man with a vision. I know that God has blessed me with the ability to comprehend math beyond the average student. In fact, I volunteer my time as an online high school math tutor. I help students across the USA through various math forums. I receive letters from students thanking me for explaining math at their level. I feel a RUSH inside whenever I sit in front of my computer to answer math questions and helping students via a large variety of math forums. I don't know what to do. I am 42 years old and extremely tired of struggling in two dead-end jobs. What do I do for a living? I work as a substitute teacher (more like baby-sitting) for grades 6-12. The sub teacher job sucks BIG TIME because of the reasons mentioned above and also because it is per diem. In addition, sub teachers do NOT have the summer off with pay like regular teachers. So, summer time is very stressfull for sub teachers in terms of paying the rent on time, living a comfortable life, etc. My second job is a weekend job. I work as a security guard on SAT/SUN from 12am to 8am at $11.50 per hour for 16 hours. The guard job is supplemental income and nothing more. Do you see my point? I graduate from NYC Technical College in 1990, from Lehman College in 1994 BUT have been struggling ever since leaving the campus life. I can't continue to live this way. What advice can you give to me? I am desperately searching for someone who'll guide my feet in the right direction? Should I take the more practical road of earning an M.A. in Sociology since I have a B.A. in the field OR should return to the undergraduate level of study to earn a B.A. in Mathematics? What do you say? Before replying, keep in mind that I sincerely have a passion for math and NOT for sociology. I will wait for your reply. Thank you so much for taking time out to read my note. Sincerely, mathland

How can I become a math tutor? I'm only 13, but I really want to help someone younger than me! I'm really good at math and I would love to help someone from Kindergarten to sixth grade. But all of those "online tutor programs" want people with graduate degrees and stuff. How can I help when I'm young?

Online Bachelors Degree to become a Physicist? Would an online bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Concentration in Math/Physics from Ellis University (online) adequately prepare me to pursue a masters & doctorate in physics? What types of engineering jobs are available to someone with a degree in mathematics? I've read online that with a degree in mathematics you have tons of career opportunities, but although math is the core of engineering I'm unsure of exactly how someone with a general bachelors math degree would enter into the engineering field? Would you need to have a specialized option towards engineering (which would possibly close off other career opportunities), or would the general degree be enough in itself?
Another math question found online: minimization fun? #1)if you leaned a tent post against a brick wall at an angle of 34 degrees, what would be the shortest rod you would use if it had to be at least 3 feet away from the tent? #2) what is the circle with the smallest radius that would fit inside a square with sides of 5.5, if the radius, r, is between 2pi and 5? any thoughts woudl be appreciated so i can check my answers
Can an aspiring adult student re-enter a traditional (non degree mill/online) college? Too late? Pointers? I am a 28yr old seeking to re-enter the Undergraduate realm in order to complete a degree in Computer Science. I have a 2yr degree in math and a 4yr degree in business. I am currently employed full time, and I am a small home owner in Tennessee. I have discovered that my real desire is to complete a degree in CS, and work in the industry. CS was my first degree choice, but I switched to engineering/took a bunch of math after switching back/forth and goofing off in my early 20s, then I had to move out, and the only degree I could complete was a business degree on the weekend. Even though I completed a BS in something, I still feel a void because I wasn't able to complete what I wanted to complete. Am I alone in a quest to sell the farm and return to school full time? Is this feasible? Unheard of? There is a traditional school in TN austin peay that offers a respected distance program but it would take longer than traditonal feel free to contact me. Online College For Single Math Course? My wife needs to finish her Air Force degree and all she needs is 3 credit hours in a math course, but she needs it in the next 3 months and no one near us is offering a math course. Please recommend a University/College that does online individual courses, must be accredited, hard work is not a problem, can't do proctored exams (travel constantly), prefer under $750 (tuition assistance), NOT PHOENIX (not paying over $1600 for a single course). Thanks for suggestions. We're in New Mexico right now. The colleges that we have spoken to that required a proctored final, required that you set up the test before the course even began, she doesn't know where she'll be at that time, so she can't set it up. Honestly she could care less about the "quality" of the education, it's a single math course and she's an adult with no desire to become a mathematician.
I need to relearn math starting with Algebra? I'm in my 30s, have a bachelor's degree, and took math through College Algebra successfully (If you can call a "C" success :>). Anyway, I'm now finding that I need to relearn math. I tried buying textbooks through ebay and working through them myself but I found that I need more structure. I've considered taking a class at a local Jr. College but that would take up a lot of time and I have work & a family. I'm a lot more flexible to actually study after 9 p.m. I could take a class at an online university, but these can cost $1500 or more. I don't need college credit. I just need to relearn this stuff. (Don't let anyone tell you that you don't use Algebra in real life.) Does anyone know of software and/or online tutoring/programs that could get me through high school level math at my own pace at an affordable price? Thanks!
Accelerated online bachelor’s degree program with minimal math and fully accredited? I need some help in selecting a bachelor’s degree. I never really had any career dreams as a kid so when I finished high school I just joined the military. Well I’ve been out of the military now for a few years and have accrued around 40 credits towards a general associates degree. I’m curious if anyone can recommend a school with bachelor degree programs that can be: 1. Completed online 2. Accelerated 3. Have little to no math. Its times like these I wish I had a high school guidance counselor . Thanks in advance!
I love math. What is a two year deegree that requires alot of it? Im trying to take the easy way and get a 2 year degree in something that makes decent money. I searched online and it seems like all the good jobs are in nursing.. But i love math and science. Does anybody know any good jobs that only require a 2 year degree that has alot of math in it?
Any one ever done online college classes? I'm going to be completing my teaching degree though an online course through UW-Superior. I've never taken an online class, and I'm really nervous about it. Has anyone completed their degree this way? Was it very difficult? I'm going be be juggling two part-time jobs (one in my home), a family, and college. I want to do well in school (I've always gotten A's and B's before), but I don't want to put too much pressure on myself since grades aren't everything. I've had people tell me online courses are tougher than regular courses. The one I'm really concerned about this semester is my Mathematics class for Elementary School Teachers. Math is not my strong suit, and I looked over the 1st chapter, and I'm already confused. Any reassurance would be great! Previous experience with online college classes would be a plus.
Does anyone have any advice or comments about the MBA at FMU online? Is there a place to take Math 112 online so it transfers to my college? I want to take this online because the teacher here is awful. Is there ANY place I can take it and it will transfer so I can get my 2 year degree and then go to a 4 year school? I understand now that each college has it's own numbering system now....thanks for your smart ass answer. Just like a College Professor. Shouldn't you be working instead of answering a bunch of questions on yahoo answers? Ah, it must explain a lot to me. And yes it IS me more than it is my teachers. But, I have a learning problem and the teacher, ONE teacher that teachers Math, doesn't explain or have the patience with me. I'm taking 2 tutors and work very hard. Have a nice day douche.
Is Double Major Possible in an Online University or College? I studied abroad. Finished the requirements of one of the majors, and almost completed the other, barring a few advanced courses. Now I am considering to transfer my credits to an online university in the US. Is there an online university or an online college that will allow me to complete my double major in English and Math and get my B.A. degree? Thanks a lot for your help!
Where should I take online classes? I'm a sophmore in college with 36 credits majoring in Electrical Engineering. I cannot attend classes on campus this coming semester for a health reason, but still want to continue taking classes somehow. Does anyone know a good online school I could take 3-4 classes from either for science/math or english like classes? Everything I've looked at online so far is directed at getting a particular degree (like Medical Assistant etc), but I would like for the classes I take to go toward my degree when I start back next year.

Online Degree? Does anyone know of any online colleges that are legit and you can do 100% @ home? I am disabled and would love to be doing something productive while I go through surgeries and recovering for the next 2 years. I am interested in any field of study except math and am mainly inerested in earning college credits to build on campus later when I am no longer disabled, perhaps an Associates degree program. Thank you in advance for your replies and advice.
I need some online sources for help with analysis. Anyone? Well, I'm polishing off my math degree. I want to go to grad school in Pure Math, which means that I have to take muy analysis. I'm taking 3 such courses: integration and metric spaces, intro complex analysis, and a course on sequences and series, all proof-oriented, analysis courses. The problem is, analysis is my weakest area (I'm much stronger in algebra, even though it's supposedly less 'intuitive') and my professors, I can't understand their notes or what their saying; they're far too sloppy. Very unorganized notes, all 3 of them! So I was hoping someone might have some good online references. It'd be a great help. Especially for complex analysis.

What's needed to become a math teacher? I'm looking for a online way to become a high school math teacher. I have no current college credit and cant afford to quit my job to go back to school full time. I know i need a Bachelor's degree but i would like to know if one in math or secondary education is better. Any help on the subject would be helpful.
Online College? Good? Bad? I'm moving from NY to FL at the end of august. I've taken 8 online classes at two different schools and loved it. I've done sitting in class at community college, I've done moving away from home and living at college; neither I liked. Online classes are a great option for me since it's at my pace and since it frees up a lot of my time that I'll need to spend working to pay for my new apartment. I'm a psychology major and have taken 1 psychology class INSIDE the classroom and 3 OUTSIDE the classroom and learn MUCH more from OUTSIDE the classroom. I'm very close to graduating I just need 1 math class. I've looked at University of Phoenix, but it's so expensive, and I've heard heavily mixed reviews about it. Any other colleges offer good psychology degrees, well accredited, and will take into account the other classes I took at community college and perhaps I could just graduate with their online degree? Any ideas on good colleges with good degrees in Psychology? OOPS! My bad. As of right now I'm going to graduate with 'individual studies' and then switch my major to psychology.
Math Question-Pre-calculus? Can you please help me out with these two questions? Please? 1. In Triangle HEY, <H=125 degrees and little h= 5/4y. Find the measures of <E and <Y. Note: < means the angle 2. Find the Lenght of AD I can't draw the picture in here but here's the link where I can find it http://online.math.uh.edu/Math1330/ch7/s73/index.html click on Exercises and it is the question # 43 Please, help me, I already cheked my notes and everything but I still haven't got it. Thank you for your valuable time in teaching me how to do it.
Becoming an online tutor questions..? I'd like to become an online math tutor in my community. I plan to post fliers around my city for online tutoring. I am currenly finishing school myself and do not have any university tutoring certificates or anything. I do have marks that are the highest in my class and I received 95% on Math10 and 20 Pure finals. I've looked into some online tutoring websites but you have to pay for most of them and I am determined not to get scammed. Thus I have decided to go it alone. (do not post web links to these sites please, they are of no help) How do I make this work despite the fact I am still completing high school at age 23 and do not have any degrees? Is there anywhere I can get a tutor type program to use? Any other relevant information out there?
Looking for a strong online science-math program with labs? I'm looking to take some online calculus, physics, and chemistry online courses with applicable labs that are realistic but also not mills either. Something strong but with good instructor support. Can you point me in the right direction? I don't need a degree just some next level science and math.
What do you think about a math book with only examples ? Please read below for additional details ? If you have answered this question before, please do not respond. I have been teaching math for about 5 years. Students in my algebra class have informed me that the textbooks do not have enough examples and lack detail. (I don't want to go into the details of this, but it's mainly to reduce the cost of the book). When I teach I provide many examples, but students usually want more practice. Also, there are several teachers out there who did not give enough examples for students, due to the short class time. I am currently working on an example book just for ALGEBRA. The purpose of this book is to provide different type of examples for students. I do plan on marketing this book for teachers, students as well home-schoolers. There will be detailed examples at different degrees of difficulty. It will also contain practice problems, with the solutions online. In addition, a few of the examples will require thought process, and will not be found in any other textbooks. It will also contain real life application problems that use algebra, unlike those train problems. This will give students an interesting perspective on algebra. I realize there are some books out there such as Schaum's outlines, but they usually only contain simple examples that you can find in any math book. I am not recommending students learn algebra from this book. It should not be mistaken for a textbook, but rather an example book to be used along with the required textbook. I would like to hear from some of you and what you think. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you, ~LazyEight PS: Do you prefer an e-book or just the usual type of book ?
I want to pursue an additional degree while going to college. I go to a community college as a math major, and I will be transferring next year (fall 08). I wanted to pursue another degree (possibly in philosophy) in addition to math, such as those online BA/BS programs. Is it possible? What do you think about online college? Do employers look negatively upon a degree earned online? Which online schools should I look at? Thank you! p.s. another reason I'm considering this is because, while I enjoy campus life, taking online courses seems to fit me well. I work and I'm a good independent student. I do very well at online courses.
Anyone interested in being paid to take an online College Class for me? I am a math moron and need more than help. I'm to old to learn this new math and need to complete this class for my 4yr degree. There are about 6 tests, no assignments; the stuff varies from quadratic equations to problems with symbols that I have NEVER seen before, they look like caved in zeros.....anyway. Willing to pay for the course exams and the final. Don't need a A, just enough to bring up my current grades to a passing C.
Best Math teacher at SUNO!? I am currently seeking my online degree through SUNO (Southern University of New Orleans), and I was wondering who is the best teacher to take for College Algebra Math 151
Online Mathematics Degree? Is there anyone that could point me in the right direction to get an online mathematics degree from a reputable university ,I am not interested in teaching math , just using in industry ?
Which college to attend, University of Oklahoma or Southern New Hampshire University? The thing is, right now I can only take online classes, and the only online degree that OU offers is a BA in Liberal studies. SNHU offers Social Science is the main degree programs that I was considering. I don't have much of an idea of what I want to do career-wise, but I don't want to do anything with math. Possibly teach. So I'm wondering if going to the bigger university (OU) would be better even though the degree isn't the ideal one?
Online courses -alternative teaching license - employment prospects? Many states offer an alternative teaching license option for people who already have a degree, but who have no education courses. One state's (NM)education department lists colleges approved to offer accelerated education courses to satisfy this licensing requirement, and includes a state school offering all online courses, plus one student teaching course. What is the likelihood that someone who satisfies this education requirement via online courses will get a teaching job, over other applicants who took traditional courses? The teaching subject is math.
degrees for the FBI? I'm interested in joining the FBI when I turn 23 and I was wondering what degree I should get after I finish up my undergraduate studies. I am majoring in math and minoring in economics and was thinking about getting an associates or BA in criminal justice or criminology, but I'm not sure which would be better. Does anyone know any actually college/university (not online) that offers these degrees? I would prefer an actually good college as opposed to one no one has ever heard of.
College Degree WITHOUT math?????? Does that even exist????? This is why I ask..... It has been taking me 7 years to get my associates for various reasons -changed my mind a couple times -took a year off -changed schools -switched to part time And basically I left math til the very end cuz I didn't test in to college algebra.... so I had to take 2 other algebra classes before college algebra. I'm currently in the second one (Intermediate algebra) and I am HORRIBLE at it. I've tried tutors, online help, help from the teacher, EVERYTHING! I UNDERSTAND the material while I'm in lecture and while someone is talking about it and working it out with me.... but then put a test in front of me and NOTHING makes sense. Today I took our first test and I could even use my notes and book and I think I STILL got 75% of the answers wrong. WITH MY NOTES AND BOOK!!!! I DON'T understand math AT all......... is there ANY sort of college degree that DOESN'T require MATH!?!?!?!?! almost every degree I've seen requires AT LEAST college algebra, but at this point as I'm failing miserably at INTERMEDIATE algebra I can't help but become frustrated and feel defeated because one measly math class is holding me back from my degree!!! (I'm only 4 classes away from my associates degree!!!!!!)...... but math is going to be the death of me..... I'm about to completely give up on even trying to GET a degree at this point because of this. I am so incredibly tense and stressed this semester because I don't want to fail this class, yet no matter how much help I get NOTHING is helping!!!!!!!!! Can anyone suggest some sort of alternative, or help or SOMETHING!?!?!? I've cried everytime I come out of this class so far, I can't take this stress much longer!
Ahh okay last question. Convert to degrees.? http://online.math.uh.edu/webct/fall06/1330/q9/images/q9_problem15__55.gif I am usually good at this, but wow...I do not what to do. I need exact answers please. Steps would be really helpful. -- A wire is to be stretched from the top of a 9 meter-high building to a point on the ground. The angle that the wire makes with the ground is 25o. How long is the wire (in meters)? I also had this problem. Well, I got x = 9/sin(25). Sadly that was not an answer. Here are the answers: 1. 9/cos(115) 2. 9/tan(25) 3. 9/cos(25) 4. 9/sin(25) 5. 9/cos(65) < ---- could this possibly be it. (draw a diagram, it works) 6. NONE OF THE ABOVE.
